There is NO ONE on Earth more happy about the Crackdown 2 announcement than me. I don't care who says otherwise. It's a LIE. I love that game more than the ability to breath, and would gladly trade it if I had to lose one. And I'm preordering it the instant Gamestop says "Yes."
Mass Effect 2 looks great. The graphics look so much better, and the combat looks a thousand times more satisfying and varied. Def going to play through again on PC to get pumped for it.
I've played some of the Uncharted 2 beta, so I know what that feels like. The multiplayer is actually fantastic. Plunder (CTF with a golden idol you can throw around) is amazing. It's almost like football, except the football is made of gold. But lugging that around is tricky and changes things a lot. Plus, it has a party system and pretty much all the basic features covered by Gears. So it's definitely a well thought out shooter. I just wish the weapons felt more accurate.
-Psyched for Mario Galaxy 2.
-Alan Wake looked great.
-Heavy Rain actually looked disappointing.
-The new Metroid looks crappy, even though it sounds promising.
-The Last Guardian looks fucking fantastic.
-Sony's motion controller was mind blowingly great looking. It's just a wii-mote but it was insanely accurate and responsive.
-I'm officially interested in ODST. At first it looked exactly like Halo with different skins, but then I heard about the big open city and 4 player co-op and got excited.
-The new MGS for 360 sounds stupid. I'm really tired of MGS, he needs to take a break. I WANT ZOE3.
-PSP Go! is retarded and expensive. No point to it other than competing with the DSi. Where it will fail with it's flip phone design, smaller screen and lack of UMD slot.
Overall, I thought Sony did best. Got me excited about a lot of exclusives coming up and the motion controller seemed to be exactly what I wanted out of the Wii, with MS's camera control being cool but hasn't proven itself to me yet. But both had good showings.
Nintendo was behind again, but it's what I expect at this point. They DID cater to the hardcore a lot more this year though. New Mario and Metroid? Sounds awesome. Wii Vitality Sensor? Not so much.
I wish I could've kept up with things the minute each tidbit came out, but being without internet killed me. But I got my PC up and running again so I binged on E3 videos all day yesterday
I'm psyched for a ton of stuff now.
edit: Oh, and Left 4 Dead 2 is way too stupid soon. And the new cast blows.
dom, you've pretty much summed up how i feel on some of those things this E3...
NINTENDO-Mario galaxy 2: awesome... i don't think i'd buy it, but it's definitely on the radar for being rented
-NEW Super Mario Bros: one word. EPIC.... basically it is old school mario with better graphics and 4 players... it does make me very sad that there is no online play intended for it, but i'm still super excited about the 4 player opportunity on it... definitely going to be a buy for me
-Metroid: Looks promising, it just didn't get me as excited as i thought it would... and... it's being done by the same people who made DOA: extreme beach volleyball?... wtf?
-Red Steel 2: i didn't care for hte first one at all, but this one looks way better, and i also think it's cool that the game will be bundled with the wii motion plus on launch.
-Wii Vitality Sensor: Eh, wtf?... total fail, i can see them making some sort of crank game for wii "keep your pulse up or you will die!"... yeah, i didn't like this at all..
-The lack of a new zelda title made me extremely sad... I know there was one announced for DS, but i'm talking about one for the wii....
PLAYSTATION-PSP Go: More fail, but this time on sony.
-Castelvania: Looks good, very god of war-like which i don't really care for, but it visually looks good
-Uncharted 2: looks amazing... i played a tiny bit of the first one which i thought was nice
-inFAMOUS: looks amazing, i really wish this was coming to 360 because i don't have a ps3.
-MAG: Looked really interesting. I love the idea of the massive squad game. If the amount of players at once is possible like they say, this game will be amazing... another reason i'd want a ps3
-Fat Princess: looks like a very fun game that you can just jump right into.
-Motion Controller: Definitely what i had imagined the wiimote to be when it first came out (although, with the motion plus, the wiimote only has a tiny tiny gap between itself and this motion controller instead of a huge one). The demos i saw for this had blew me away. Definitely looks fun to use. The only thing that just kills it for me is the look of the entire thing. But then again, they did say it was still in development.
XBOX-Project NATAL: Amazing. This just barely beat out the playstaion motion controller for most amazing thing at E3 for me personally. RGB camera, depth sensor, multi-array microphone, and custom processor running proprietary software, just amazing. They altered burnout paradise and it could sense the way you moved your hands for the wheel and the way you moved your foot for gas, brake, and reverse... that is just crazy...
Multi-Platform-Assassin's Creed 2: Looks pretty good... I liked the first one, just after the first city it got really repetitive. If they change up the missions and stuff this game would definitely be a good one to rent or maybe buy.
-Raven Squad: RTS + FPS? that's awesome... Hopefully this will be as good as it sounds.
-Final Fantasy XIII: No explanation needed
-Ghostbusters: I loved the movies... this game looks awesome, pretty much it is gonna be Ghostbusters 3
-Left 4 Dead 2: I liked the first one a lot, and this one looks much better.... definitely might rent or buy this one
-The Beatles Rock Band: Rock band with beatles, how cool is that?
-Modern Warfare 2: Looked AMAZING.... i liked hte heart beat sensor... the gameplay looked similar... but very cool... the snow mobile stuff ruled... i really hope we can drive more vehicles other than tanks and stuff... almost reminded me of BF2 on the PC.
PC-Star Wars: The Old Republic: the cinematic looked amazing for this.... the game looks to be so freaking epic so far...
I will edit this with more stuff to come
